A PERFECT PROPOSAL STORY: MEREDITH & JERRY

Meredith grew up visiting her family in Delray Beach, Florida. When she was in town, she would often tag along to the gym with her cousin, Jeffrey. Upon moving to Florida at the beginning of 2021, she officially joined the gym. One day Jeffrey and Jerry were partners for a workout in a class Meredith was in, which allowed for a formal introduction. For the next few weeks, Meredith and Jerry would see each other in passing at the gym, occasionally interacting and flirting. Jerry texted Jeffrey one day asking if Meredith was single. He had the opportunity to get her number. Jerry declined and said he would ask himself the old-fashioned way. Meredith appreciated Jerry's respect for tradition but thought he was taking too long, so she messaged him on Instagram to get the ball rolling. Shortly after, phone numbers were exchanged, and Jerry took Meredith out on their first date on April 23. 2021!


On November 18th I received a text on my cell from someone named Jerry, introducing himself as Meredith’s boyfriend (referred by customers and family in Florida). Jerry had an idea of what Meredith liked and was thinking ahead to a trip they had planned. I was pleased that he was thinking ahead and allowing enough time to properly design and create the perfect ring, especially since I would be working with a customer that lived over a thousand miles away. We exchanged emails and then started sharing pictures. Meredith had shared ideas with Jerry on Instagram and he did his homework very well, he paid attention. He shared with me several styles and we were able to create a ring that had aspects of all the rings she liked. Meredith’s ring was a beautiful oval diamond set in yellow gold with a hidden halo. A stunning ring for a stunning girl, it was perfect. The couple shared these beautiful pictures of Jerry’s perfect proposal.

The Proposal

In November of 2021, we decided to plan a trip to Denver, Colorado because one of our favorite artists, Luke Combs, was playing at the Broncos stadium. Before leaving for our trip Jerry had told Meredith "I hired a photographer so we could do couples pictures" followed with "don't get any ideas though, I don't have a ring yet." Little did she know, there was a ring box in his backpack the entire time. 

Our first full day in Colorado was beautiful (and our only good weather day before we saw snow in May). We hiked in the morning before getting ready for pictures that evening at Red Rocks Park. Our sweet photographer helped us feel at ease in front of the camera, starting off with some pictures on one of the trails. We migrated to our second spot and the photographer told Meredith to face away from Jerry and on the count of three, he would come to grab me from behind. Instead, she told Meredith to turn to face Jerry and when she did, he was down on one knee!
