It is always an honor to be recognized for achievements and receiving a Top 50 Entrepreneurial Excellence Award is no exception. On Thursday, May 11, 2022, The Greater Reading Chamber Alliance announced the top business award winners at their annual chamber dinner.
Nominated companies, had to be headquartered in Berks County, be a member of the GRCA, and meet the revenues for the required reporting periods.
It was inspiring to be in the company of such excellence, and I am proud that our company was recognized and awarded.
Of course, this would not have been possible without the hard work of our staff. Growth cannot happen without qualified, dedicated, and knowledgeable people. I am blessed to have that! It is reflected in our Google reviews, notes, emails, and phone calls I often receive from satisfied customers.
So, it was a night to celebrate and those staff members that were able joined me at the dinner. The Keynote speaker was Scott Hamilton, Olympic gold medalist in figure skating. Hamilton spoke about his successes but more importantly his failures. He mentioned falling, in his career, over 41,000 times. He also spoke of the turning point in his career where the switch went on and he figured out what was needed to succeed and overcome his obstacles and create his success.
I aligned with this personally as I look back on the last few years. Surviving 2020 was an obstacle that we all have had to overcome. One of the positive things I have observed is how our community supports local businesses. The new customers we have gained since 2020 have a deeper respect for customer service and shop with us because we are a locally owned small business.
We made the Top 50 list before this year but we were forty-eight, which is still an honor. In 2021, we were ranked thirty-three. Our commitment is to improve this by constantly seeking new and innovative products and providing excellent customer service.
