My Best Life in Jewelry
Meet Cynthia Franchitti: Jewelry Lover, Community Builder, and Soon-to-Be Mayor
Published: Nov 2, 2025

Hi there! I’m Cynthia Franchitti, and if you’ve read any of the blogs here at Van Scoy Jewelers — chances are, I wrote them! Lately, we’ve been spotlighting our team members so you can get to know the faces behind the sparkle. It’s been so much fun learning more about everyone… and now it’s my turn!
Before my journey with Van Scoy began, I worked as an administrative assistant at an elementary school in Chester County, where I also tutored grade school students in reading and math. Helping young minds grow was incredibly fulfilling, and it taught me patience, empathy, and the power of community — values that I carry with me into every role.
I joined Van Scoy in 2019, when we were still located on Broadcasting Road. Then, like so many others, COVID-19 turned everything upside down. During that time, we operated with a very limited staff — but I stayed involved by helping with our big move from Broadcasting to our new home on Penn Avenue. I even spent time painting desks and reupholstering chairs during the shutdown — I always need to keep busy!
Once the world started opening again, I returned to the store in full swing. At the same time, I was also working at a bridal boutique — juggling two jobs and doing a lot of driving. Eventually, I made the difficult decision to step away from VanScoy to focus on the bridal world for a while.
But I missed it! I missed the girls, the warmth of the store, and the deep sense of community we have here. Thankfully, Caroline welcomed me back with open arms, and I’ve been back with my Van Scoy family since 2023!
I've always had a passion for weddings and everything surrounding that special day. Over the years, I’ve worked in catering, helped plan venues, served at events, styled bridal gowns and mother-of-the-bride looks — and now, I help couples choose engagement rings and beautiful jewelry to celebrate their love. These women in the store are like sisters to me — our camaraderie and love for one another has been one of the most meaningful blessings in my life.
Outside of Van Scoy, I’m proud to be involved in Jake’s Dragon Foundation, Jake's Dragon Foundation | Because kids can't fight cancer alone. which was founded by my husband’s cousin. This amazing organization supports childhood cancer research and other critical initiatives.
And — here’s something I’m excited (and a little nervous!) to share, I'm running for Mayor of Elverson in Chester County, PA. It's an incredible honor to have the opportunity to serve the community I love, and I’m looking forward to what the future holds.
Thank you for taking the time to read and the next time you’re in the store, I hope you’ll say hello!
