THE JOURNEY OF THE PENDANT

Recreating a beloved piece of jewelry is like taking a journey down memory lane. This is a story about M. One of her favorite pieces was a journey necklace she had received as a gift from her husband years ago. When she brought it to me, she told me that she hardly wore it anymore although she loved it. “How can we modify this so that I can start wearing it again”, she asked. It was yellow gold, and she is currently wearing more white metals than yellow.  



The journey pendant features diamonds that are graduating in size, representative of your journey in life or love. The increase in size is representative of the twists and turns of a lived life and symbolizes how your love grows over the years. In redesigning the necklace, we did not want to lose the significance of the message. We were able to use all of M’s diamonds and set them in a circular fashion. The circle is a powerful symbol as it represents the cyclical nature of life and how everything is connected. The circle is also revered as a sacred symbol and represents limitless things such as eternity, perfection, and wholeness. So, the journey of this necklace has truly come full circle!

We worked together to redesign the piece in the perfect way, preserving its story and infusing it with a modern touch. The result was more than she could have hoped for. The necklace held all the same beauty and charm that it had before, now updated for her current style and taste. It was a beautiful blend of past and present, reminding her of the journey that led to this moment.
